- Elephant TB Testing Update
- The most recent (2008) update of the “Guidelines for Control of Tuberculosis in Elephants” was approved by the US Animal Health Association (USAHA) at their October 2008 national meeting.....Testing associated with the new guidelines will officially start on or about March 2010, with testing of all animals to be completed by March 2011. Like the trunk wash (still required), testing with the Elephant TB StatPak kit will be done yearly. APHIS will evaluate the oversight program at the end of the first year.

Information regarding the process for appealing USDA, APHIS, Animal Care inspection reports can be found on page 7.8.4 of the Inspection Guide. The appeal process applies to inspection reports for dealers, exhibitors, research facilities, transporters and intermediate handlers.
